About Us

The primary objectives of Cypress Running Club are to promote running as a sport and to promote jogging as one component of a healthy lifestyle for club members of all abilities. In furtherance of this objective, the club hosts group runs, training runs and programs on the road and/or track, clinics and/or educational lectures about topics of interest for runners, social events for members and their families, and all such other things as may be conducive to the encouragement of running. The club also engages in community activities to publicize the benefits of running as a means of physical fitness.

Cypress Running Club was started in 2010 and is based in Coles Crossing in Cypress, TX.  We welcome runners of all abilities and from all neighborhoods. We offer a 5k training plan for those new to running, as well as training plans for half and full marathons.  Start dates and details for these training plans can be found on the Training Plans & Races. Regardless of your experience or fitness level, we welcome you to join us and we are confident you will find other runners that match your level. We are a 501(c)3 organization under the Road Runners Club of America.

We are a running club, not a program. Your membership with the Cypress Running Club allows you to train with the club for as many races as you wish during the season, or none at all if you prefer to run with the club just to stay in shape and meet some running buddies. We do not have paid coaches, rather a bunch of experienced running nerds who take the time to create the detailed training plans. All aspects of club are handled by members who volunteer their time to organize group runs, plan social events, ensure post-race hydration is available, etc.

Social media is a great tool to help people of similar interests network and share a variety of information.  Cypress Running Club’s primary social media source is Facebook.  Please also join our Facebook group to stay connected, view routes and start times for training runs, and rsvp for events.  In order to ensure that our Facebook group is a valuable resource to our members and sponsors, we ask that you review our Facebook group posting policy here.
